Q. Who is Park Place Furniture?
|
|
A. Park Place Furniture is the upholstered furniture division of Park Place Corporation,
a 70+ years old home furnishings manufacturer headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina.
Our product line includes sofas, love seats, sectionals, chairs, ottomans and sofa sleepers
for residential and commercial use. We have approximately 350 frame styles and 500 fabric
choices. We also do a significant amount of C.O.M. (customers own material) work.
|
Q. Does Park Place Furniture have a showroom?
|
|
A. Yes, the showroom is located at 103 Shaw Street in Greenville, South Carolina. Showroom visits
are by appointment with an authorized Park Place retailer or sales associate. Showroom samples are
updated bi-annually with the latest available fashions.
|
Q. Does Park Place Furniture accept special orders?
|
|
A. Yes, special orders are our primary business. Everything we produce is made to order. We work with
some of the leading design firms in the business.
|
Q. What are the most outstanding quality features of Park Place furniture?
|
|
A. Our stationary furniture utilizes a true eight-way hand-tied spring up system. This is coupled with a 5/4
inch hardwood lumber frame, glued and screwed corner blocks, sinuous wire back support and double doweled joints.
Supporting the eight-way hand-tied seat is a steel banding system mounted on the frame front to back and side to side.
The feet and legs are an integral part of the frame.
The cushioning is an environmentally friendly Ultracell material containing no CFCs. It is wrapped in a branded fiber
enclosed in a downproof ticking for long lasting comfort and support. The filling material is a molded foam for arm tops
that is consistent and resilient. It is covered with a layer of synthetic batting that enables Park Place to meet UFAC
(Upholstered Furniture Action Council) flammability standards. A needle punched fiber is used in padding all outside
parts to give the furniture a substantial look and feel.
Park Place is second to none in the standards we apply to fabric application. Our production system involves a two-number
series for each frame style. The second number begins with the letters PM (Perimeter Match). When you specify PM, the fabric
matches vertically and horizontally around the entire piece. Since most manufacturers simply line up the front panels, the
effect is a completed work of art. Very few companies know how to manufacture to this level of completion and even fewer are
willing to offer it to their customers.
Further, all Park Place upholstery is standard with cushion tie down straps (except for sofa sleepers and sectionals). All skirted
products are standard with an adjustable glide so you can easily level the furniture on any floor. You can also adjust skirt heights
depending on whether the furniture is sitting on a hardwood floor or carpet. Finally, all seat cushions are cut as tops; so when the
cushion is reversed, the pattern stays the same which enhances the longevity of the product.

Q. Does Park Place Furniture offer a warranty?
|
|
A. A limited warranty applies to the original purchaser of residential furniture. The warranty does not apply to products purchased for contract
or commercial use. Any evidence of abuse or improper care invalidates the warranty. The warranty is segmented into the following areas:
Frame and springs: The frame and spring construction will be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the furniture is
owned by the original purchaser and is covered in the original fabric.
Seat cushioning: Cushion cores will be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the original cover
under normal use. Some softening and flattening is normal and will occur in all cushions as a result of time and usage. Park Place recommends turning
the cushions at least once a week for maximum life.
Sofa sleeper mattresses: Mattresses are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase.
Fabrics: Manufacturers of upholstery fabrics do not warrant their products for wearing quality, color fastness or fabric shrinkage. Park Place
cannot honor adjustments, claims or credit these properties.
Transportation: Park Place will repair and restore its furniture to industry standards. Expenses incurred when the furniture is delivered to or
from the consumer are not warranted.

Q. Does Park Place Furniture make leather products?
|
|
A. Yes, over 60 styles are available in leather. See our catalog for availability. We only use top grain leather. We do not use split hides, substitute leather materials or combine partial
leather with matching vinyl. Our buyers carefully select the finest hides. The natural characteristics of leather are defined in each hide by its own unique individuality. "Nature's signatures"
include healed scars, hair follicles, color variations, insect bites, natural wrinkles (neck and belly areas of the hide) and range marks. These naturally occurring characteristics of quality leather add
to the distinctiveness of the product and assure its authenticity.
|
Q. What is the proper method for cleaning my Park Place furniture?
|
|
A. We attach a cleaning guide to each piece we produce. The fabric supplier assigns a cleaning code based on the fabric content. Carefully follow this guide when cleaning your upholstery piece.
